Overview
Perched above the deep sapphire sea in the lesser-trodden Andros, Mèlisses is a heaven-sent hideaway rewriting all the homestay rules. This sumptuously secluded B&B blends boho beautiful interiors with space, privacy and drool-inducing foodie fare. Weaving famous Greek hospitality with a tantalising taste of la Dolce Vita (host Allegra is Italian), expect a veritable feast for sight, stomach and soul. First up, location. Remaining Greece’s best kept secret, Andros is a haven for those looking to escape the hordes of holidaymakers who flock to neighbouring islands. This sanctuary may be unspoiled but it’s far from inaccessible – a two hour ferry from Athens. Next, aesthetics. Whether you plump for one of the three suites or two bed cottage, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped inside the pages of a glossy magazine – yet one that is homely at the same time. As rich in nature as in nurture, guests of all ages are greeted into the fold like family. The spectacular saltwater pool is equipped with plenty of inflatables for tots to borrow; not only are rooms kitted out with cots & highchairs, everything from nappies to formula can be ordered in advance; whilst staff double up as babysitters and will happily whisk kids away to feed the resident animals or cook up a storm in the kitchen. Slow-living is encouraged here, where deliciously docile days can be spent relaxing by the infinity pool or swimming in the sparkling sea. Bountiful breakfasts are whipped up each morning, with hyperlocal dinners served once a week. If you fancy a break from self-catering, private chefs can be arranged. Mèlisses magically captures the essence of the wild isle she calls home and parents are guaranteed to depart with their family cups very full

We stayed in the Coral Apartment - a two bedroom cottage with its own kitchen, living area, outdoor BBQ and private pool. They placed a cot next to our bed, and the space was perfect for it. All the furniture is perfectly cared for, mixing together design typical of the Cyclades islands and vintage finds from France and Italy. It was such a dream
