Overview
Sugar Beach more than lives up to its sweet sounding name. This lavish resort will have adults (and offspring alike) acting like kids in a candy shop. First up, location. Taking the crown as the Caribbean’s most scenically situated spot, this dopamine destination boasts the only white sands in the area, alongside sapphire seas rich in reef marine life. The surrounding jungle may be massive, but service here is tailored to the individual. All accommodation is butler-managed, and nothing is too much trouble for your very own Jeeves. An endorphin-inducing enclave for the whole family, tiny travellers will happily be whisked away to the complimentary Kids Club, where activities centre around island life, allowing mum & dad to retreat to the rainforest spa. Waterbabies of all ages are spoiled rotten, yoyo-ing between the exquisite emerald ocean, Piton-facing main pool and private swimming spots back at their room. With every luxury imaginable on tap, the only problem with a stay here is becoming addicted to your new tropical lifestyle

Best time to visit
St Lucia has a tropical climate with high temperatures throughout the year
Dry season runs from December through to May. January and February are perfect for a spot of winter sun, with highs of 29 degrees – offset by a cooling breeze. Your best chance of dry skies is March, although this does come with more tourists and expensive flight prices. April temperatures creep up to 30 degrees, with bath water warm waters. May is the final month before the wet season starts. The last two months of spring are our favourite time to visit, thanks to sunny, and dry, skies, plus the hotel offers lower rates from April – October
Wet season starts in June, with a noticeable spike in humidity, and continues through until November. Glorious sunshine is still on the agenda, but it’s worth knowing hurricane risks are highest during September and October. The dry season begins in December, and the last month of the year is spectacular for snorkelling
Favourite room
Whether you opt for the lead-in Sugar Mill Room, villa, cottage or Residence, every abode here has a private pool and butler service. The Grand Luxury Villa would be our favourite, if forced to pick. Home to a king-sized four poster bed, separate living room with double-sized pull-out sofa bed, sumptuous claw foot bath tub and oversized plunge pool on the private patio
Nearby
Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort is located on the southwestern part of St. Lucia around three miles outside the historic town of Soufriere – famed for being home to the island’s main natural attractions. The drive-in volcano, botanical gardens and waterfalls are all close proximity

Sugar Beach hits the perfect balance of catering to families without compromising on luxury. The all inclusive element is naturally very appealing to families but it equally feels like it’s not a resort that is overrun with kids. When the children are in bed it feels like the ‘old days’ of romantic escapes almost! The Kids Club makes it a stress-free holiday and the hotel can organise nannies and babysitters at the drop of a hat. And of course you can’t beat Sugar Beach’s location between the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage-Listed Pitons - one of the most breathtaking locations in the whole of the Caribbean!
