Sitting pretty on Portugal’s pristine Silver Coast, Areias do Seixo Villas prove once and for all that ‘chic’ and ‘kids’ definitely can mix. When it comes to aesthetics, nothing short of magazine-worthy interiors await, cleverly blending cool urban influences with rustic touches. Flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling windows, the spectacular views spread from sea to sand dunes. Outside, your private pool beckons – unless you prefer the beach, in which case, you’re in luck. The unspoilt sands of Santa Cruz are less than minutes away, where you pick your poison be it splashing, sunbathing, surfing or SUP-ing (there’s either equipment to borrow or bookable lessons). The on site Family Village promises both freestyle fun and organised activities – with everything from trampolines and play frames to crafting and baking on offer. And just down the road, sister property Noahs Surf House boasts a skateboard park and one of the area’s finest restaurants. In short, this is a beautiful boho oasis that delivers big on outdoor adventures

Areias do Seixo Villas are a 50 minute drive from Lisbon airport, up on Portugal’s silver coast – an unspoilt stretch of beach so named as the ocean appears to turn silver at sunset!
Best time to visit
For the best of both worlds, we’d personally head away in either September or October – when the weather is still lovely and warm (hello beach days!) but it is also ideal for outdoor activities and exploring
For those seeking a sun soaked, slower paced stay, the peak summer months (June, July & August) are hard to beat
Though with temperatures starting to climb when April rolls around, a Spring fling is far from off the cards if you’re content with slightly cooler weather (daily averages tend to hang around 19-20 degrees)

At Areias do Seixo Villas there are a range of accommodation options available, from sprawling superior villas to trendy townhouses
Blue Superior Villas are perhaps the stars of the show, sleeping either 6 or 8 across 3 to 4 queen & twin bedrooms (all with either a sea or pool view). The (large) outdoor private pools have safety covers which can be easily fitted for parent’s peace of mind when not in use. As well as gorgeous kitchen, living and dining areas, the rooftops boast stunning sea and sand dune views. These villas are also best for those with toddling tiny travellers or impaired mobility
Blue Villas sleep 6 across 3 bedrooms (each with a private bathroom), and are slightly smaller than their superior equivalents. While they lack a rooftop terrace, they still benefit from the same outdoor pools and fully equipped indoor spaces
The Green Villa options, both Superior and standard, all have three bedrooms, and vary from the Blue Villas mainly in their interior decor style
The townhouses (sleeping 6 across 3 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom) are better suited to slightly older tiny travellers, aged 5 plus (or babies who haven’t yet found their feet). They are spread across several floors – some connected by floating staircases – and furniture and features have some sharp corners. As well as fully equipped kitchens, living & dining spaces, each has a small outdoor pool plus a terrace and BBQ area
Nearby
Less than an hour north of Lisbon, the villas sit just outside of Santa Cruz, on the coast. They’re surrounded by gorgeous beaches, cliffs and sand dunes, while heading back into town (a ten min drive away) will reveal plenty of cute local restaurants to try

Family Village
Let their imaginations run wild at the Family Village, as they cross rope bridges, spring on trampolines and scoot down slides. There’s also a fab range of organised activities, from artistic workshops to baking, treasure hunts & yoga for all ages

Hit the beach
Whatever your preferred passtime – be it sand castle building, splashing, sunbathing, surfing, or SUP-ing – you’ll find it a short stroll away at the deserted local beach. Lessons can be booked for ages 6+, while tiny travellers can play and cheer from the sidelines

Learn about what grows in the garden, how to take care of chickens, and collect their eggs in these wonderful family sessions run by the villa’s resident gardener
