Overview

An activity all inclusive like no other, we promise a family jaunt to Feuerstein will exceed even the highest of expectations. Nestled in the South Tyrol mountain range, stunning scenery is just the first of many, many A+ accolades this Italian idyll holds claim to. A self-proclaimed ‘Nature Family Resort’, it’s clear the moment you step through the door (and are greeted with a children’s play area next to check in), this pad has been purposefully designed for parents

Shaking up the standard supervision scene (with most hotels operating a strict 2+ door policy), babes from newborn are warmly welcomed into the (complimentary!) childcare fold. The Kids Club is split into two age groups; 0-4 and 5+, with epic spaces for tots through tweens to blow off steam. While the Montessori-based entertainment is legendary, the focus at Feuerstein is very much on enabling time together. From pony rides and mini farm visits to the Ninja Parkour, mud room, bungee trampolining and wood workshopping, the comprehensive array of boredom busting activities here are all free of charge. Sprogs could happily while away the whole day splashing around the quadrant of pools alone – which include an outdoor infinity, toddler splash pad and all-levels-of-adrenaline-giving slides, each and every one heated, of course. The adults spa and glorious gym are on hand for some mummy-me time, and all grown ups should carve out a few hours to hand themselves over to the results-driven therapists

As a 5* stay, the prices here may not be cheap, but in our opinion, they’re some of the best value for money on the continent! Family Rooms include separate bunk bed sleeping spaces for kids (which you’d be paying double for in one of Europe’s beachfront boltholes) and the Luxury Board dining is both gourmet and incredibly generous. As gorgeous bathed in sunshine as it is doused in snow, this is an all-season stay, with a justification for visiting every month of the year! We could wax lyrical forever more on the magic of Feuerstein, but we’ll force ourselves to stop here. If there’s one thing left to say, it’s this – move over Disneyland, Feuerstein is THE place, where dreams come true

We’ve tested the pools, the Kids Club, the restaurants and the bedtime logistics. Here’s our honest first-hand family review for Feuerstein Nature Family Resort

The perfect family hotel does exist! Feuerstein expertly strikes the balance between wholesome activities to entertain the kids and parent-pleasing elements like a chic adults-only spa, wellness classes and fine dining. My son loved the playbarn, the best play area we’ve ever seen in a hotel, and I couldn’t get enough of the jaw-dropping indoor/outdoor heated pool with mountain views. There’s loads to do in this region of South Tyrol if you can tear yourself away from the hotel. Our stay in Winter was pure magic!
