But, ease of access is just the first in a long, long list of parent pleasing perks at Lujo Hotel Bodrum – a joy inducing juggernaut for families who want facilities at no cost to aesthetics or ambience. One for any self proclaimed resortphobes whose energetic offspring have them considering a change of stance, this palatial pad manages to feel like a luxury boutique bolthole (just on a much larger scale!) And with size does come some big benefits. Starting with the Kids Club (1+). You’ll find dedicated rooms for every hobby; Lego Robotic Coding workshops; dance & basketball academies; an aquapark; and that previously dreaded, but realistically incredibly useful, evening entertainment. Plus, did we mention it doesn’t close until 2am?! Parents having successfully shrugged off their responsibilities for the afternoon (or week!), can slink off to the adults-only beach club for live DJs, moreish cocktails and even designated day-time snooze spots. A gourmet getaway for fastidious foodies who shudder at the thought of self-service dining, the 9 a la carte, yet all inclusive, restaurants here are blissfully buffet-free

The smallest, and entry level, rooms at Lujo Hotel are the Superior. These sleep a family of 3 (plus a little one in a cot), across a double and sofa bed, in one shared sleeping space. Terrace rooms have a similar internal set up. Partly sea-view have a bathtub on the balcony, while sea view have their own jacuzzi. All of these rooms can also fit an additional baby in a cot
Slightly larger, the Deluxe Rooms, can fit 2 adults, 2 children and 1 babe in a cot (thanks to an additional sofa bed), with sleeping spaces separated by an internal curtain
The appropriately named Family Rooms lay claim to 2 bedrooms, with 1 king size and 2 single beds a piece, plus there’s ample room for a cot
Water babies will want to plump for a Laguna Deluxe Room, for access to a shared swimming pool that’s possible to dive right into. These have a similar layout to the Deluxe Rooms, with internal curtains separating the master bed from the sofa beds
Family Corner Suites offer guests more space, sleeping up to six across 2 bedrooms, a sofa bed (in a separate living room) and baby in a cot. Corner Terrace Suites come with the perk of al fresco private jacuzzis. Laguna Duplex Family Suites are spread over 2 floors, sleeping gangs of 8 (plus a baby) across 3 bedrooms and 2 sofa beds. The stairs here aren’t the most toddler friendly, so these are best booked for those who have little ones not yet on the move, or older ones au fait with stairs
The biggest boudoirs at Lujo Bodrum are the villas, all of which are part of the elite Lujo Edition (which come with extra resort perks.. These all come with heated pools

What family facilities are there, and how much do they cost?

Starting with supervised childcare sessions. The ‘Kijo’ Kids Club is included for guests on the All-Inclusive AND B&B packages, and brilliantly runs from 9am through to 2am! Lunch is also served in the Kids Buffet from 12-2pm
One is the official entry age, although little ones who haven’t yet celebrated their first birthday are welcome to stay and play under parental supervision. It is worth noting that for any offspring older than this adults are not usually able accompany them, due to a ‘kids only’ ethos. That being said, parents are welcome to join certain scheduled activities, such as art classes
Interactive zones include music, theater and art rooms, a science lab, dedicated Lego room, gaming center and outdoor playground. Kids can also join in dance and basketball academies, as well as painting, ceramic and wood design workshops
There’s no need to pre-book sessions, with Kijo working on a drop in all-day basis. Older children can be given permission to sign themselves in and out
For parents of toddlers looking for somewhere to spend time together, there is a beautifully conceived playroom for those three and under, where older siblings are welcome to join too
For older kids, there’s retro arcades and a Laser Tag area. While those 16+ can also make use of the ‘adults-only’ facilities in the Indigo area of the resort
Watersports are also available, as well as tennis courts, and guests 16 and older can join in complimentary yoga, Pilates, Cross fit, Zuma, TRX and Aqua spin classes. For those under 16, there’s complimentary group tennis and swimming classes, while one-on-one lessons are available at an additional charge
Babysitters can be booked in-room and across the resort for 45eur per hour (alongside an additional 11.5% service charge). If you’d like a babysitter to accompany you outside of the resort, the fee is 67eur per hour (plus the service charge). In-room babysitting is not available for tiny travellers under 1
Which equipment is available to borrow for babies & children?
Lujo can provide sterilizers, bottle warmers, disposable bibs, baby food and milk. Some bigger items require a deposit, which is refunded at the end of the trip upon the rest of the items in a good conditions
What are the pools like?
All the pools at Lujo Hotel are officially ‘heated’. When the sun is shining they’re delightful, but our inspector mama fed back they’re not bath water warm when the skies are cloudy
Lujo’s main ‘Maki’ pools are a cascading water world of tiered swim spots, with gradual entries for little legs, including a dedicated splash spot of 0.3m
Lujo’s Aqua Park is open from May – October (depending on weather conditions), with 6 fast-placed slides for Tiny Travellers 10 and older. It’s open from 10am-12pm and again 2pm-5pm
There’s also another 0.3m indoor pool for toddlers, as well as a family friendly one inside the spa area
Exclusive to adults, there’s another pool at the Opa! Beach Club, where live DJ performances accompany swimming and sunbathing
Finally, guests who bed down in the Laguna Suites have access to a shared, snaking swimming pool directly outside their bedroom door, and those looking for a truly solo swim set up will want one of the villas for a private pool
When you’re not at the insanely gorgeous pools, the beach at Lujo is really special. Think: crystal clear, incredibly calm waters, made for mini merpeople just finding their sea legs. You’ll have seen photos of the chicer than chic floating cabanas, these start from £253 a day (plus 11.5% service charge)
Is there evening entertainment?
YES. The evening entertainment on offer at Lujo really is a highlight of a holiday here. For little’uns there’s interactive shows, mini discos and themed nights starting at 8.30pm every evening (except Mondays)
From June onwards scheduled acts include Science shows, Acrobatics, Paper Parties and Balloon shows. The talent show on a Sunday is particularly sweet
For adults, the night time fun kicks off at 3.30pm with live performances in the Puppet Lounge. Full-scale concerts take place every evening from 10pm, with a symphony orchestra on Saturdays. From 11pm the night continues at Pablo Escobar with DJ performances from world-renowned names. There’s also piano recitals 6 evenings a week at Koza if you fancy something a little more low key
What’s the protocol for allergies?
Allergens are clearly marked on all menus, and when a guest checks in, relevant departments (including F&B and Guest Relations) are informed of any allergy information provided. Lujo’s restaurant teams are also prepared to handle mild allergy-related requests on-site
What’s the dining set up?
There are 8 gourmet restaurants sprinkled across Lujo Hotel, with 5 included in the All-Inclusive concept, where guests can dine as often as they wish. Click here for more information and example menus
Asma – modern Anatolian cuisine, open for breakfast (8am – 11am) and dinner (7pm-11pm)
Alarga- fresher than fresh seafood, perched right next to the ocean itself, open for breakfast (8am – 11.30am), lunch (12.30pm – 5pm) and dinner (7pm – 11pm)
GUGU! – Asian fusion fare, this dining destination is for over 16s only, open for lunch (12pm-7pm) and dinner (5pm-7pm)
Koza – organic farm-to-fork produce with a laser focus on minimal mileage, open for breakfast (6am – 12pm), lunch (12pm-9pm) and dinner (5pm-6am)
Sorriso – classic Italian, with homemade pasta, risotto, seafood and meat dishes, open for lunch (12pm-5pm) and dinner (7pm-11pm)
Alongside these ‘included’ restaurants, guests are also welcome to dine at the El Gaucho steak house (7-11pm), Shibori Robata Grill and Sushi Bar Teppanyaki (7pm-11pm), but there is a cover charge applied per person and a fixed-per-person dining fee

A smart casual dress code is in operation across all the a la carte restaurants for dinners – although this does not extend to children! All restaurants are equipped with children’s menus, baby cutlery, high chairs and single-use bibs for the smallest of diners
Restaurant reservations can be booked via your personal Joy Advisor either day to day, or upon check in. We recommend pre-booking in advance if you have a specific destination in mind, particularly during peak periods. Don’t forget, our team can book for you before your stay and with first hand experience of the Lujo mealtime magic themselves they’re well placed to make recommendations
And, as if the above wasn’t enough, Lujo also has a plethora of palate-pleasing bars and snack stops, meaning you’re never more than an arm’s stretch away from a wine, beer, cocktail or juice. Tiny Travellers in particular will love the Bluette Patisserie, where top notch cakes, macarons and all kinds of sweet treats are served from morning through night. Or, head to Luz Care for coffee and ice cream!

First of all, this is not a regular all inclusive hotel. It's truly incomparable. It feels like a unique, luxury boutique bolthole - we even talked about this being the place we revisit every year, as both parents and children had THE best time. Starting with the restaurants - wow! There's handful of a la carte options, from Mediterranean and Italian through to Asian. Everything we ate and drank was amazing - and all included! The absolute best thing about the hotel though was the Kids Club. It's giant but with a really tight staff:child ratio, it seemed like each kid had their own adult to play with. There was truly something for all ages; dance shows; science, art & pottery classes; gaming rooms & evening entertainment

What I loved most about Lujo was how arty and cool, yet still incredibly family friendly it felt. Although it was a sprawling all inclusive you felt more like you were exploring a gorgeous miniature Turkish town, with an incredible restaurant scene! Talking of food, meals here were standout and there wasn't one buffet in sight. The beach is gorgeous, with clear, shallow waters ideal for little legs. While there's no obvious toddler pool, there's a dedicated shallow spot as part of the magical Maki set up. The Kids Club was another holiday highlight, going SO far above the usual offering, there's vintage arcade games for teens, plenty of roleplay for tots, art classes, Lego rooms, robotic workshops and loads more. Plus, it's open until 2am!
