Overview
A breezy 80 minutes from Chambery airport, tantrum-free travel is one peak perk of Club Med Valmorel. The theme of argument-free A to B transfers continues with the prime ski-in, ski-out location. Hidden behind a curtain of spruce trees, at an elevation of 1,460 metres, this high altitude haven is a safe bet for snow bunnies just finding their feet. The surrounding slopes include plenty of blues, and nursery areas for beginners, while more advanced members of the party can head over to Saint-François Longchamp for challenging red runs. After a long day pounding the piste a visit to the spa is a must. Swimming a few laps in the indoor heated pool is another
The childcare offering here is phenomenal, with the highly-lauded Baby Club in operation (4 months+), as well as ski lessons for littlies (3+). The restaurant champions minimal-mileage menus, and, true to Club Med form, the evening entertainment is enticing for all ages. Inside, the design is finely-tuned for families, marrying generous storage space with interconnecting rooms, postcard-pretty balconies and ever-roaring fires

Tignes’ ski season runs from: end of November – early May. Starting earlier and ending later than many other destinations, Tignes provides families with a lot of flexibility on when to visit. For us, it really shines over the Easter half term. When lower resorts are turning to slush, you can rely on snow-sure slopes and sunny skies
