Overview

A unique utopia for parents who fear child-centric package holidays, Casa La Siesta offers a completely new take on family friendly getaways. This honey-hued hacienda is an adults-only country retreat most of the year, opening its doors to kids & co during four specific weeks. Grown ups are encouraged to lean into slower paced siesta-studded days, whilst tiny travellers make new friends – with only 11 rooms, there’s just enough other children for group entertainment, without disturbing the tranquil vibes. Rural romance reigns supreme, inside and out. Rooms are adorned with exposed beams, terracotta tiles and artfully placed antiques, whilst the eden-esque heated pool is lined with sublimely scented sentries of lavender, hibiscus and jasmine. In our books, it’s the ultimate rustic yet refined rural retreat, which is near impossible to beat

Parent to Tiny Traveller aged 4

Family weeks really are catered for so that both kids and adults can enjoy themselves. This is what really appealed to me. I'm not into big resorts with All Inclusive this and that. I loved the way I can holiday with family here knowing they are enjoying themselves, whilst I enjoy beautiful adult surroundings and amazing food

    Worth waking the baby for

    01

    Vejer de la Frontera

You won’t find any neon lights or nightclubs in this sun-soaked, historic hilltop town. Streets are steeped in centuries-old stories from the Moors to the Romans. Expect to find charming, local restaurants, artisan-owned shops, inviting water features and crumbling churches

    02

    El Palmar

Arguably the best beach in the area, and the closest to the hotel, El Palmar serves up a wide stretch of cotton wool soft white sands and a sprinkling of restaurants

    03

    Cadiz

You can reach the Andalucian city of Cadiz in less than an hour. Medieval streets combine with Spanish plazas and Roman ruins. Alongside a cathedral, museum and seafront promenade there’s a wealth of seafood and sherry waiting to be tasted
