Overview

A profoundly personal stay awaits at Monte do Olival, a family home since the nineteenth century on a stunning Alentejo farm. Perfectly peaceful, connect with nature and slow the pace while exploring fields stretching as far as the eye can see – on foot or by bike – and feeding the donkeys. Three self catering apartments sit in this untouched landscape, sharing a heated outdoor pool with panoramic views. Nature takes centre stage whatever the season – as the fields flower in beautiful technicolour come spring, before turning from green to gold. The unspoilt sands and calm seas of fashion-pack favourite Comporta are just a few kilometres away, and nearby historic villages sit waiting to be explored. You can be sure you will be welcomed with open arms to witness the beauty of this land, in this magical, serene spot surrounded by olive trees and stork nests

    Holly

Parent to Tiny Traveller aged 2

The B&B was super family friendly. Located on a farm, there were sheep, horses, chickens, cats and 2 resident doggys for our little boy to befriend, plus a very cute playground. Our room came kitted out for self-catering, but the icing on the cake was the communal kitchen with help yourself coffee, tea and delicious homemade cakes

    Worth waking the baby for

    01

    Comporta beaches

a once sleepy fishing village, Comporta has made a name for itself in recent years as a favoured destination for fashion forward beach breaks –  and with its unspoilt beaches, cool restaurants and tiny boutique shops, it’s easy to see why

    02

    Visit Evora

The capital of the Alentejo region, the well-preserved, historic city of Evora is full of sights to explore, including an ancient temple, Chapel of Bones & Evora Cathedral – before unwinding in the sun at a lively alfresco cafe

    03

    Seafood in Setubal

If there is one thing Setubal is renowned for, it’s the city’s fresh seafood, and many amazing restaurants. So much so, it’s almost impossible to go wrong
