Whether you’re there to soak up the sun, or snow, there’s an abundance of fresh-air activities for all seasons. ‘Joker Cards’ are provided during peak months (17th May – 28th October), giving free access to a range of local attractions, from the valley train and adventure trail, to guided hikes and unlimited lift passes. Gloriously groomed slopes are only a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and lead directly into Austria’s largest ski area, with runs to suit all levels. An elevated winter escape, night skiing, snow tubing, floodlit tobogganing, ice skating, curling and horse drawn sleigh rides take piste-pastimes to another level

Favourite room
We recommend the Rubin and Kristall apartments for families. Rubin is the largest, sleeping families of up to 5. Interconnecting rooms are available and the bougiest boltholes are definitely the Alm Suites – complete with private saunas and hot pots (think: small Jacuzzis that seat up to 4)

What family facilities are there, and how much do they cost?
The seasonal Kids Club welcomes those 3+ free of charge. This wonderland operates from Monday through Friday, during July, August and the first weeks of September. Opening times differ slightly, depending on the day of the week, with Tuesday and Thursday having only afternoon to evening sessions
Those too young to attend on their own are welcome to stay and play with parents, or babysitters can be booked. Activities include Olympic games, arts & crafts, as well as excursions into the forest for hiking & fishing
The indoor playroom Monti Adventure World can be enjoyed by all, and guests will find gaming consoles, billiards, darts and table football. There’s also a small outdoor courtyard with swings, trampolines and toys
A real highlight of staying at Alpin Juwel is use of the complimentary ‘Joker Card’ – provided to guests who visit during peak period (from the 17th May – 28th October) – which gives free access to many local attractions, including mountain railways, hiking buses, puzzle trails, outdoor pools, lifts, adventure trails, a free ride park, tennis courts and museums

Changing tables, baby baths, potties, bottle warmers, nappy bins, cots, baby monitors and high chairs are available free of charge
What are the pools like?
There are 2 pools at Alpin Juwel, one indoor and one outdoor, both available for guests of all ages. During the summer these sit at 29 and 32 degrees respectively, while come Winter they warm up to 31 and 36 degrees
Is there evening entertainment?
Alpin Juwel doesn’t offer evening entertainment, but they do have daily morning yoga classes
What’s the protocol for allergies?
A foodie-first getaway, everything Alpin Juwel dishes up is organic and local. Guests are encouraged to inform the reception team at check in of any allergies, and the chefs can personally prepare modified meals to suit
What’s the dining set up?

The two onsite restaurants focus on fresh, organic cuisine, inspired by ingredients found on their doorstep. Dinner opens at 6.30pm, but there will be no hungry babies on Alpin Juwel’s watch. Simply ask a member of staff to whip up some food (any time of day) and they’ll happily do so, free of charge
Kids have the choice of a buffet or specials from the menu, and room service is also available

Wow, the name is quite a mouthful, but well suited to describe Austria’s largest ski area. Alpin Juwel is found directly on the slopes, steps from the lift. Whether you’re a boarder, baby ski bunny or powder pro there’s something to satisfy all terrain-tastes in the 270 kms of pistes. The local ski school starts lesson from 3 years old and you’ll want to book your break between December and March to be the most snow-safe

Handily located next to each other, Schnitza’s wood park is a sweet outdoor playground of carved animals, while Devil’s water is an aquatic ‘themed’ park.
