Overview
The secret seaside stay that should be on every beach lover’s bucket list, Baia del Sole offers guests an authentic abode with all the trimmings. Starting with marvellous meals. There’s no denying Italian’s know a thing or two about food and if you were to ask for recommendations, the name Calabria is bound to come up. There’s no better place to journey through the region’s cuisine than at Baia del Sole. A full blown culinary hideaway for parents, this flavourful hotspot also highlights Italy’s other tantalising trait: hospitality. A siren call for gangs with allergies or intolerances to contend with, the well-considered children’s menus here are second to none. Not only that, heaven-sent staff will accompany sprogs to lunch and dinner at ‘Social Tables’, allowing mum & dad to sneak off for a sunset aperitivo by the sea – guilt free
Onto the surroundings. Private beaches are like gold dust in Italy, so the stand-out sands and impossibly blue waters at Baia del Sole are really rather special. A low-key resort for those who want facilities at their fingertips, in an intimate setting, broods bed down in bungalows scattered around the nature-rich grounds. The interactive Kids Club focuses on environmental education, with recycling workshops, visits to the Fragrant Herb Corner, Insect Hotel and Hedgehog House all on the agenda. There’s watersports, tennis lessons and homemade gelato on tap for tweens, with the fun culminating in nightly discos. Should you wish to reclaim your evenings, excellent babysitters can also be booked. Bellissimo indeed

Reviews from other parents
You know you’ve been on a great holiday when your children are asking when you can go back, over and over, for months. We all loved Baia del Sole, it was the perfect place for a family: safe, a huge array of activities – and a beach! As parents, we spent many lovely days having cocktails and snacks then nipping off for a swim or a game of tennis with the children. As for them, they were in heaven, free to run about and do activities with the excellent kids’ club team. They loved a knot tying class, which was unexpected! The food is excellent, the atmosphere sociable and the view across the sea, with a volcano on the horizon, is unforgettable. We will be back!
