Made up of just three luxury safari-style lodges sleeping up to six guests, The Nest swaps the overstimulation of busy family resorts for something infinitely more restorative. Days revolve around a peaceful private lake, where children disappear between wild swims, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing and wildlife spotting, while parents enjoy the rare luxury of actually sitting still for five minutes. There’s acres of countryside for little legs (and four-legged family members) to explore, yet you’re also within easy reach of Burghley House, Rutland Water, excellent farm parks and some of England’s prettiest market towns. It’s the sort of place where you can happily spend the whole weekend without leaving – or venture out knowing there’s plenty to discover nearby

From the moment you arrive at The Nest Glamping you are treated to a beautiful blend of nature and luxury. As a mama of two, I’m always looking for interesting stays but also comfort and that’s what The Nest offers. Sunset baths overlooking the lake with a wine in hand... who doesn’t like the sound of that? My little toddler especially enjoyed her wooden hideaway bed, tucked in a cosy corner, perfect for a wild child! My husband even had his wish of staying active during our break with the option of bringing your own paddle board, however there is also a canoe to borrow on site that really brings your surroundings to life!

I came to The Nest expecting a lovely glamping weekend, but left wondering why Lincolnshire isn't mentioned alongside the UK's biggest staycation hotspots. Waking up to a private lake where we could swim, paddleboard and kayak straight from our lodge, before ending the day in a wood-fired hot tub, felt like the kind of family holiday I'd usually associate with flying abroad. The boutique-style lodges strike the perfect balance between being immersed in nature and having all the comforts of home, while the peaceful setting was exactly the reset our family needed
