Overview
Whilst Indian Ocean island resorts are famed for off the scale seascapes and easy-breezy luxury, they’re not known for their brilliant babycare. Supervised sessions in this neck of the woods tend to start from 3 & up, which is a little tricky if you need a helping hand with the tiniest of travellers. Enter Trou aux Biches Beachcomber – a tropical paradise personified for parents. Alongside the complimentary Kids Club, this heaven-sent resort runs a free babysitting service on weekday afternoons for tots too young to make the childcare cut (1+). Set on the most desirable spot on the island, families are further impeccably catered for in a cocoon of lush green gardens, pristine sands and turquoise waters. An all-suite hotel it’s impossible to go wrong with room choice here, where even the entry level options are scattered around semi-private swimming pools. When you’re not snoozing on sumptuous sunbeds, shaking off stress in the spa or swimming with the resident turtles, there are 6 restaurants to taste test. Trust us, this place really does have everything

Best time to visit
If you’re hoping to fly and flop when the weather is as its most balmy, book a break between November and December, where temperatures range from 24 to 28 degrees. January, February and March are the hottest (30 degrees) months, but also the wettest. If you’re hoping to bag more of a bargain with flights, the cheapest time to travel is between July and August. The average temperature sits pretty around 24 degrees and there’s relatively little rain
Favourite room
Setting a sky high benchmark for barefoot luxury, the room choice at Trou aux Biches Beachcomber is seriously impressive. All rooms boast private balconies and terraces, and the hotel will happily situate families with prams on the ground floor – just ask in advance. We love the 2 Bedroom Family Suites, for separate sleeping spaces and all important outdoor access – to avoid becoming nap trapped! A scattering of these suites surround a semi-private pool, but if you want to push the boat out for your own solo swimming spot opt for a Beachfront Suite with Pool
Nearby
The location of Trou aux Biches Beachcomber is utterly irresistible, and many would say the 2km of sugar-white sands it calls home are the island’s best. Trou aux Biches itself is a small town with a handful of delicious local restaurants and street food stalls
