Overview
Welcome to Village Heights, where laid back, low key family escapes reign supreme. The kind where you swap your phone for a book, lose track of time, and bask in doing as little (or as much) as you like away from any hustle and bustle. What Village Heights lacks in ultra modern luxury, it more than makes up for in warmth and serenity. Nestled high in the Cretan mountains, holidays here are as effortless as they come, encouraging you to reconnect with nature and each other through yoga sessions, tennis matches, mini golf and hours spent round the pool. And as every parent knows, convenience is king – yet another box ticked as the self catering apartments are complemented by 6 amazing onsite restaurants
Far from out of bounds, a hotel shuttle runs to the local beach at Stalida, where reserved sun loungers, parasols and beach club access await. The chance to truly relax and unwind comes courtesy of the Kids Club activity agenda, packed with sessions from sunrise to sunset, spanning arts and crafts, singing and dancing and ecologically minded entertainment. But if you ask us what’s calling our name, it’s the bespoke spa treatments big on local produce, using avocado extracts, olive oil, aloe and lavender

Nestled in the mountains, surrounded by lush greenery as far as the eye can see, Village Heights makes for an idyllic chilled summer holiday in June, July and August. The weather is ideal for making the most of the outdoor activities – from hiking and biking to tennis lessons and yoga. It’s also the perfect time of year for water babies, who will revel in the swimming pools and sea (there’s a free shuttle down to Stalida beach, where reserved sunbeds and umbrellas await)
Favourite room
If we had to pick, we’d plump for a Two Bedroom Family Suite (with kitchenette), which have an abundance of space across two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, two bathrooms and a living room – sleeping up to 6 in total. The cherry on the cake are the private balconies, with sea, garden or mountain views
Baby’s first holiday? There are also Junior or One Bedroom options available, which a cot can be added to. Or, if you’re part of a bigger brood, opt for a Three Bedroom Villa with Private Pool!
Nearby
With an onsite mini market, 6 restaurants and tonnes of activities, part of Village Heights charm is there’s no real reason to leave!
Though if you’re longing for a lazy beach day, just jump on the hotel shuttle straight down to Stalida beach. Here, reserved sunbeds, umbrellas and access to the beach club await. The strip of gold sand is also lined with restaurants, bars and shops if you’re in the mood to explore. Hoping to adventure a little further afield? Village Heights is ideally located to explore some of Crete’s most famed sights, including Spinalonga Island, The Palace of Knossos and countless local wineries

We went to Village Heights in October 2023 and it was so much better than the pictures! They don't do it justice. Some areas had been recently renovated (with the rest planned in too) and all the staff were so nice. The rooms were on the basic side but were big and had really useful little kitchens. And the app to book your restaurants was great!
