Overview

Welcome to Village Heights, where laid back, low key family escapes reign supreme. The kind where you swap your phone for a book, lose track of time, and bask in doing as little (or as much) as you like away from any hustle and bustle. What Village Heights lacks in ultra modern luxury, it more than makes up for in warmth and serenity. Nestled high in the Cretan mountains, holidays here are as effortless as they come, encouraging you to reconnect with nature and each other through yoga sessions, tennis matches, mini golf and hours spent round the pool. And as every parent knows, convenience is king – yet another box ticked as the self catering apartments are complemented by 6 amazing onsite restaurants

Far from out of bounds, a hotel shuttle runs to the local beach at Stalida, where reserved sun loungers, parasols and beach club access await. The chance to truly relax and unwind comes courtesy of the Kids Club activity agenda, packed with sessions from sunrise to sunset, spanning arts and crafts, singing and dancing and ecologically minded entertainment. But if you ask us what’s calling our name, it’s the bespoke spa treatments big on local produce, using avocado extracts, olive oil, aloe and lavender

    Georgina

Parent to Tiny Traveller aged 1

We went to Village Heights in October 2023 and it was so much better than the pictures! They don't do it justice. Some areas had been recently renovated (with the rest planned in too) and all the staff were so nice. The rooms were on the basic side but were big and had really useful little kitchens. And the app to book your restaurants was great!

    Worth waking the baby for

    01

    Labyrinth Park

As the name would suggest, the star of the show here is the sprawling labyrinth which waits to be conquered. However, you’ll also find quad bikes, donkey rides, pottery workshops, archery, a laser maze and mini farm at this interactive entertainment extravaganza

    02

    Spinalonga Island

A former leper colony, UNESCO site and the inspiration behind Victoria Hislop’s book The Island, Spinalonga is well worth a visit for historians and literature lovers alike. Board a short boat over to the island for unparalleled views and off road exploring

    03

    Acqua Plus

By far the most popular water park on the island, Acqua Plus is home to over 50 slides and games across both an adults and a children’s area, as well as lazy rivers, inflatables, pools and playgrounds
