Overview
A cosy, eclectic Jacobean country pile that guests are encouraged to treat like their own home, Woolley Grange is tucked into the rolling hills of Wiltshire – and promises wholesome escapes full of luxury touches without any dusty or outdated manor house vibes. Part of the Luxury Family Hotels (LFH) group, it has just gone through a ground-up, gorgeous glow up, and radiates a relaxed, warm atmosphere that encourages you to linger by the fire a little longer, cocktail in hand. And there’s no need to worry about the kids – they’ll find plenty to entertain themselves, with piles of books, games (and even some life-sized woolly sheep to clamber over) scattered throughout the lounges . At Woolley Grange, tiny travellers are catered for completely, yet never at the detriment of adult relaxation. Instead, an impressive kids’ club, family friendly pools (indoor which is open year round, or outdoor from May to September), lots of fresh air activities and daily family favourite film screenings (with popcorn), sit side-by-side with beautiful boutique-y spaces
What truly sets Woolley apart is how it handles childcare. A complimentary crèche and Kids Club give parents space (and time!) to actually enjoy a spa treatment, a good book or early evening drink – and if you’re sat there thinking ‘but my little one hates kids clubs’, that’s just because they haven’t been here yet. The Ofsted registered team are like real life angels, instantly making tiny travellers feel at home and pulling aces out of their sleeves to engage all ages and interests. When supervised sessions aren’t running, you’re also welcome to use the beautiful playspace and toys together as a family, or outside, the 14 acres of grounds call to explorers of all ages. There’s an enchanted garden with tiny fairy doors to find (plus they host marshmallow toasting here too), some furry friends & waddling ducks to meet, a couple of different climbing frames and playgrounds, outdoor ping pong, football goals, a fish pond… (we could go on)
Back inside, the grown-up delights are just as compelling. Elegant, antique-adorned rooms feel like staying in a grand, lived-in country home, the spa seals the deal on much-deserved rest, and the dining promises three courses of local, nourishing delights (either served at a time that works for your little ones, or enjoyed after they’re in bed, thanks to monitors which cover the intimate space or babysitters if you’d rather)
And Woolley Grange’s crowning glory? It’s staff, who truly go above and beyond. To make you feel relaxed as parents, and really engage with little ones (you won’t find your name on the dining table, but theirs, complete with a little illustration that makes them feel special). Craving dessert but need to get the kids in bed? They’ll bring it up to your room, for you to enjoy at leisure after they’re asleep. Or have baby bottles that need cleaning? No issue, just drop them off and they’ll reappear good as new. Need we say more? It’s every parent’s dream

Woolley Grange restored my faith in holidays with a little person. I felt like I had more of a break in the two nights we were than I did in previous week long holidays with our little boy. They went above and beyond with the baby amenities, even providing a baby monitor in the room that works anywhere in the hotel. My husband and I were able to go to dinner in the evening (AMAZING food by the way) and watch our son on the monitor
