Overview
An all inclusive hotel walking distance to a local town is about as rare as both kids syncing their sleep schedules. But Mallorca’s 5* Zafiro Palace Alcudia is a contemporary coastal complex full of surprises. Marrying elevated eating and encyclopaedic entertainment with serene adults-only spaces, this under-one-roof-resort is heaven-sent for chic, childcare-seeking crews. Understanding that parents can have both aesthetic aspirations and distraction-demanding tots in tow, the surrounding scenery may read modern Med, but the epic pirate ship and slides for all sizes keep little ones happy too. In a stroke of genius the splash pool is lined with sun loungers, meaning parents can easily supervise from the sidelines. The comprehensive Kids Club offering occupies offspring from 4 – 15 years old, while evening entertainment keeps the fun flowing until bedtime
Rooms are universally modern and fresh, with the choice of private pool or shared swim up suites. A real find for families who like to explore, the beautiful preserved medieval city of Alcudia itself is a stone’s throw away, with lots of lovely restaurants and shops to sample. While not beachfront, the white-sands of Playa de Alcudia are only 10 minutes on foot, with the Balearics trademark sapphire sea in full display. Back at base, downtime can be spent catching 40 winks from the semi-submerged double daybeds lining the pool or recharging drained batteries in the spa. For those who like to work up a sweat, bikes can be hired to tackle the magical mountainous routes and there’s one of the continent’s best golf courses on the doorstep. Culinary cabin fever is easily avoided in the a la carte restaurants, where creative cuisine takes centre stage. All this without having to worry about a final bill at checkout. Seriously, what else could you ask for?

Favourite room
An all-suite hotel, spacious sleeping spaces are guaranteed across all of Zafiro Palace Alcudia’s rooms
Large gangs of up to 6 will want the Two Bedroom Penthouse or Swim Up Suite – the first comes with a private al fresco jacuzzi, while the latter allows guests to dive right into a shared pool. If you’re looking to keep costs down, there’s also Two Bedroom suites, for the generous footage, without the extra H2O trimmings
For those with 4 or less in the mix, the Junior Suite Private Pool provides an open plan boudoir with direct access to your own personal watering hole, whilst Junior Swim Up Suites have the same interior, but lead onto a shared swim spot instead
