There’s a reason so many parents talk about Club Med holidays with that slightly dreamy expression and sentences that start with, “Honestly, it was just SO easy”
For decades, Club Med has basically been the gold standard for stress-free, all-inclusive family holidays – the kind where children are having the time of their lives, parents actually get to sit down for more than five consecutive minutes and no one is ever stuck wondering what to do next
Whether your idea of a holiday is packing in amazing activities (think sailing, snorkelling, tennis, yoga, circus skills and everything in between), heading out on properly well-organised excursions that actually work with children in tow, or simply switching off by the pool while your little ones are happily entertained in outstanding kids’ clubs, Club Med somehow manages to tick every box. And then a few more you didn’t even realise you had
From newborns through to teenagers, the childcare setup is genuinely one of its best you’ll find anywhere. Babies are cared for in calm, specialist environments, younger children have structured fun, games and creative activities, and older kids and teens get proper independence with sports, challenges and social activities that make them feel like the holiday is theirs too. Everyone’s a winner – including mum and dad
Here are eight of our favourite resorts for a sunny family break. From the Alps to the Mexican coast – there’s a Club Med to suit every family

Founded way back in 1950, Club Med pretty much invented the all-inclusive holiday as we know it
What started as simple sunshine escapes by the sea has grown into a huge collection of nearly 70 resorts across around 40 countries, from the Maldives and Mexico to the French Alps and Morocco. Every year, more than 1.4 million guests holiday with Club Med, and once you’ve been to one, it’s very easy to understand why. This is family-friendly at it’s best – whether you are travelling with tinies of teens
Parents love the flexibility of it all. One day you might be out exploring local culture on a guided excursion, the next you’re learning something new on the water or joining a cookery class. Or you might do absolutely nothing at all beyond moving between the pool, lunch and a shady spot with a drink in hand – and that’s completely fine too
That’s real joy of Club Med: everything is there, everything is included, and everything is designed to work for families. They just get it. No juggling schedules, no complicated planning, no constant decision-making fatigue. Just sunshine, freedom, brilliant childcare and great food. AKA a holiday
Club Med was one of the first holiday companies to introduce kids’ clubs and they’ve been perfecting them ever since. Knowing that parents need a break on holiday too, they offer childcare from as young as 4 months right through to teenagers, with age-specific clubs packed with sports, games, creative activities and adventures that children genuinely get excited about
Baby Club is perfect for tiny travellers aged 4- 23 months, Petit Club keeps curious 2-3 year olds entertained, Mini Club is packed with fun for kids aged 4-10, and the Teens Clubs give older kids and teens aged 11-17 their own cool space to hang out, make friends and try new activities. Think treasure hunts, sports, crafts, shows, beach games and loads of outdoor fun, all run by Club Med’s super-friendly staff know as ‘G.Os’
There is also tons laid on for families to do together because Club Med know just how to get that perfect balance that keeps everyone happy
Anyone for family Olympics on the beach? Add sandcastle competitions, treasure hunts, water challenges, sports tournaments, sailing, snorkelling, tennis, flying trapeze, and even sunset yoga sessions to the list of stuff you can all join in on together
Everything’s included – food, drinks, activities, entertainment, childcare and even ski lessons and watersports – making family holidays suddenly feel a whole lot less exhausting. Costs are all upfront too so there are no expensive surprises on a final bill
No planning every second of the day. No frantic searching for somewhere child-friendly to eat. No packing the car for a beach trip like you’re preparing for an Saharan expedition
And it’s that ease that keeps families flocking back year on year. Sometimes to the same hotel or often to try a new Club Med property, safe in the knowledge that the same excellent formula will be waiting for them, no matter what country they arrive in
If you want it all, but you don’t want to travel too far to get it, Club Med Magna in Marbella is going to be right up your street. Tucked between the foot of the Sierra Blanca mountains and the glittery Costa del Sol, this gorgeous resort somehow manages to feel both stylish and completely family-friendly at the same time. Think chic Spanish vibes, giant pools, palm trees and children living their absolute best lives wearing swimming goggles and arm bands for at least 12 hours a day. All just a hop, skip and a jump from Marbella and the many local beaches in Andalusia
There’s childcare from babies right up to teens, including Baby Club Med for little ones aged 4 to 23 months, Petit Club Med for ages 2 to 3, Mini Club Med for children aged 4 to 10 and dedicated teen clubs for older kids with cool stuff like flying trapeze lessons designed keep a smile on their faces. The kids’ facilities are seriously impressive too, with water games and slides, football, tennis and endless games – expect tired, happy offspring at the end of each day
Meanwhile, parents can properly kick back. There’s an adult-only Zen pool, sunny terraces perfect for lazy lunches and plenty of opportunities to sneak off for a quiet drink while the children are off making friends and covering themselves in ice cream on the kids’ club watch. From golf and yoga to padel and a swish infinity pool to chill out at, this resort has so much to offer everyone
Fly direct from the UK to Málaga. Flights from London take under three hours, with plenty of daily options. Once you land, Marbella is only about 40 minutes away by car. Book a transfer through Club Med or grab a taxi straight from arrivals. There’s also a direct airport bus to Marbella
There are daily supervised kids’ clubs for children aged from 4 months up to 17 years-old, with dedicated programmes tailored to each age group, including Baby Club Med (4-23 months), Petit Club Med (2-3 years), Mini Club Med+ (4-10 years), the Teen Programme (11-13 years), and the Chill Pass for teenagers aged 14-17 Babysitting services may also be available to book at an additional cost, although these are typically arranged directly through the resort and subject to availability
The best time to visit Marbella is from May to early October, when the Costa del Sol delivers long sunny days and warm sea temperatures. Summer temperatures usually sit between 28-32°C, while spring and autumn stay pleasantly warm at around 20-26°C. Even winter is mild, with daytime temperatures often around 16-18°C and plenty of sunshine

The Maldives is pretty much the dream family beach holiday, and at Club Med Kani escaping to a tropical island paradise suddenly feels not only possible, but surprisingly easy too, even if you are travelling with kids
Yes, it’s a long flight to get there, but don’t let that put you off as from the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of. No stressing about logistics, no endlessly planning meals or activities – just straight into holiday mode. And while the beaches are every bit as beautiful as you’d imagine, what makes Kani especially brilliant for families is how much there actually is to do
Days here can be as action packed or as horizontal as you see fit. Head off on a snorkelling trip with the kids to spot colourful tropical fish, try paddleboarding across those impossibly turquoise lagoons, book a dolphin-spotting excursion or attempt surfing in the warm Indian Ocean. Back on land there’s padel, yoga, beach games, cookery classes and even flying trapeze lessons – a quickly activity that Club Med really go in for!
Of course, the kids’ clubs are a huge part of why families love it so much. Children from age 4 right through to 17 years old can join Mini Club Med and the teen clubs, meaning every age group genuinely has their own version of paradise. Little ones can safely splash around in the calm shallow lagoons watched over by expert childcare staff, while older kids throw themselves into sailing and kayaking
The whole resort has this wonderfully chilled-out, barefoot-luxury atmosphere. Families stay in beautiful beach bungalows just steps from the sand, where doors open straight onto powder-soft beaches and the sea is never more than a few seconds away. Some rooms even have direct beach access, making it super easy for children to spend half the day darting between the sand and the sea while you watch on from a well positioned lounger
The setting is dreamy: the water is that unreal shade of blue you usually only see on postcards, tiny fish dart around your feet as you paddle and sunsets turn the entire island golden every evening. If you’ve ever imagined the picture-perfect Maldives family holiday, then this really is it – with all the practical stuff you need to make it happen on tap
The easiest way to reach the Maldives is to fly direct from the UK to Malé. Total travel time is normally around 12 hours and night flights are an option
Once you land at Velana International Airport, Club Med can arrange a speedboat transfer to the island, which takes about 25-30 minutes across the lagoon
There are daily supervised kids’ clubs for children aged from 4 up to 17 years-old, with dedicated programmes tailored to each age group, including Mini Club Med+ (4-10 years), the Teen Programme (11-13 years), and the Chill Pass for teenagers aged 14-17.
Babysitting services may also be available to book at an additional cost, although these are typically arranged directly through the resort and subject to availability
The best time to visit is between November and April, during the Maldives’ dry season. Expect hot, sunny weather, calm seas and temperatures around 28-31°C almost every day
January to March is peak postcard-Maldives season, with bright blue skies and incredible snorkelling conditions. May to October is wetter and more humid, with short tropical showers, but temperatures still stay around 27-30°C
From £228 per person per night in low season and £300 per person per night in high season

There’s no question that Mexico is a proper ‘holiday-of-a-lifetime’ kind of place. And if you want to make sure it really is the sort of trip your family talks about for years afterwards – for all the right reasons – then Club Med Cancún is the spot to book. Think white-sand beaches, warm Caribbean breezes and endless blue skies, all set right on the edge of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. It’s sunshine-filled, lively, colourful and totally set up for families. This is the kind of spot parents dream about. Unlimited snacks, zero logistics, beautiful beaches and children who are suddenly far too busy having fun to ask for screens every five minutes
At the risk of sounding repetitive, did we mention there’s childcare from 16 weeks-old right through to teens? Yup, you’ve got the picture. Younger children can splash in the pools and shallow sea while bigger kids have a ball trying out sailing, circus skills, beach games and mega selection of watersports. There’s also a huge water park onsite, complete with slides and jets. But all these activities are only part of the appeal. One thing parents always say after a Club Med holiday is that there’s constantly something happening, but never any pressure to do absolutely everything. There’s no impossible family itinerary to stick to here – you completely do it your own way
In Cancún, that might mean spending the morning snorkelling over coral reefs (the second largest in the world is near by), before drifting back for tacos, guacamole and pool time in the afternoon. Maybe the children disappear off happily to the kids’ clubs, leaving you to head to the spa. Then everyone reunites for warm evenings and huge family dinners overlooking the sea
There’s also loads of Mexican culture woven into the experience too, which gives the whole resort a much more vibrant feel than your average fly-and-flop beach holiday. Cookery classes, live music evenings, dance performances and excursions exploring nearby Mayan history and local markets around the Riviera Maya are all there for the booking
Stay in one of the Family Oasis suites that are spacious and with comfortable separate sleeping areas, perfect for larger families. They also have their outdoor spaces and easy beach access. And while yes, this is absolutely a luxury all-inclusive resort with fantastic food, gorgeous pools and everything you’d expect from a top-tier family holiday, the atmosphere is what really makes it special. It’s warm, sociable and genuinely fun. This is not one of those ultra-quiet luxury resorts where everyone whispers around the pool. It’s families laughing at dinner, children making holiday friends within approximately twelve seconds and parents finally relaxing because literally everything is sorted. Amen to that
The easiest way to reach Cancún from the UK is to fly direct to Cancún International Airport from London Gatwick or Manchester. Direct flights usually take around 10-11 hours
Once you land, the resort is only about 20 minutes from the airport, making it one of the easiest long-haul Club Med destinations to reach. Most guests arrange a transfer through Club Med or book a shuttle in advance
The best time to visit is from November to May, during the dry season, when temperatures sit between 25-30°C with sunny skies and lower humidity. March to May is especially popular for beach weather, snorkelling and exploring the Riviera Maya. June to October is hotter, wetter and more humid, with a higher risk of tropical storms between September and October
From £139 per person per night in low season and £215 per person per night in high season

This is honestly one of the most exciting new family hotel openings in South Africa right now. Set on the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal coast – where the Indian Ocean meets wild bushland – this will be the very first all-inclusive Club Med resort in South Africa, and it feels completely different from your average beach holiday
Yes, there’s sunshine, swimming pools and endless ocean views, but this is also the kind of trip where your children might spend the morning learning to surf, the afternoon by the pool and the evening watching traditional Zulu dancers under the stars. If it’s adventure you’re after, then this is it
Club Med’s brilliant kids’ clubs will, of course, still be a huge part of the appeal, with childcare and activities available from babies right through to teens. But what feels especially lovely here is how connected everything is to the destination itself. Younger children can join drumming workshops, bead-making sessions and storytelling inspired by local Zulu culture, while older kids and teens will love the sporty, outdoorsy energy – think paddleboarding, beach games and so much more
The accommodation looks gorgeous too. When the first guests arrive in July they will be met with a relaxed luxury feel rather than anything overly formal – spacious family rooms in calming coastal colours, natural textures, big windows and lots of indoor-outdoor living. Family suites are really well designed with separate sleeping spaces and plenty of room
But the real magic? The beach-and-safari combination. Guests can add on a stay at the Vikela Safari Lodge, turning the trip into a full blown South African adventure. The transition from beach to bush is surprisingly easy. The safari lodges are located further inland in KwaZulu-Natal, with transfers arranged directly from the resort via a scenic road journey. In total, it generally takes around three to four hours depending on the safari package, making for a very doable two-centre option
Once there, everything suddenly feels straight out of a wildlife documentary. Early morning game drives head out at sunrise when the bush is waking up, while afternoon drives often end with incredible golden sunsets across the savannah. Families can spot giraffes, zebras, elephants and, if they’re lucky, even the Big Five – lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalo and elephants
And yes – people always ask about ages for a safari trip. Most family-friendly safari lodges welcome children of all ages, but some game drives do have minimum age limits, often around six years-old, especially for open safari vehicles or longer drives. There is a kids’ club at the Lodge which caters for kids from age four upwards for little ones who can’t join in. In typical Club Med style, they help make it everything as easy as possible
The easiest way to reach Club Med South Africa from the UK is to fly from London to Johannesburg which takes around 12 hours and is generally a night flight. From there you catch a connecting flight to Durban which take just over an hour
The resort is located on the Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu-Natal, about 30-45 minutes from Durban’s King Shaka International Airport by road transfer which can be organised by the resort or you can hire a car at the airport
At Club Med South Africa resort the kids’ club setup follows the standard Club Med structure, with childcare and activity programmes available from 4 months through to 17 years-old. Baby Club Med caters for infants aged 4-23 months, Petit Club Med is for toddlers aged 2 – 3, Mini Club Med covers children aged 4-10, and the teen programmes are split into 11-13 and 14-17 year olds
It’s slightly different at the Vikela Safari Lodge due to safari activity age restrictions
The Mini lodge kids’ club is accessible for those from 4 to 10 years old and Teens Lodge from 11 to 17. All activities are on-site
Children aged 6 and above can join the standard drives, while family drives can be organised for those with kids under the age of 6
There is no bad time to visit this area or South Africa as it rarely gets cold even in winter
May to September is the dry winter season when you can expect warm sunny days around 22-27°C on the coast, with cooler evenings and excellent safari conditions thanks to lower humidity and thinner vegetation
December to February is hotter and more tropical, with temperatures around 28-32°C and occasional summer rainstorms
From £197 per night in low season and £223 per person per night in high season (doesn’t include the Safari Lodge)
Short Stays available, 3-night minimum
Safari Lodge from £370 per person per night
Alpine escapes are every bit as fantastic in the summer as they are during ski season – and Club Med Tignes is proof of exactly that. While it may be famous for its brilliant winter holidays, it’s equally wonderful once the snow melts and the mountains turn green
Because in summer, this part of the French Alps transforms into one enormous outdoor playground for families, where fresh mountain air, endless activities and ridiculously beautiful scenery offer a very refreshing alternative to crowded beaches and overheated cities
Set high in the Alps surrounded by dramatic peaks and crystal-clear lakes, Club Med Tignes has all the ingredients for an amazing family stay. The brilliant childcare, entertainment, fantastic food and family-friendly facilities can all be taken as a given. But what makes this location especially exciting is everything waiting right outside the hotel doors. Families can spend their days mountain biking through alpine trails, hiking to breath taking viewpoints or kayaking across shimmering lakes. Then there’s rock climbing, archery and even summer tobogganing nearby
Back at the hotel you can try yoga, fitness classes or head off to the spa. The whole vibe here is wonderfully outdoorsy and wholesome, with days revolving around adventures followed by long sunny lunches on mountain terraces. Yes please to that
Accommodation is very much part of the appeal too. Think modern alpine style with family rooms and suites are spacious and cleverly designed for travelling with children, with plenty of storage for all that outdoor gear, comfortable sleeping arrangements and large windows that open up onto incredible vistas over the French Alps
And while yes, you’ll probably be swapping flip flops for hiking boots at least some of the time, there’s still plenty of opportunity to properly relax too. Spend lazy afternoons by the pool soaking up the sunshine. Plus, one of the loveliest things about summer in the Alps is the temperature. While much of Europe can feel unbearably hot in at this peak time, Tignes stays beautifully fresh and comfortable – ideal for families with babies, toddlers or anyone who prefers sunshine without the sweat
So if you fancy something a little different from the usual sand-and-sea holiday, but still want that sunny, active, feel-good family escape, Club Med Tignes might very well be it
There’s a couple of options here. You can fly to Geneva, Lyon or Chambéry, then take a transfer into the Alps. Geneva is usually the smoothest option, with plenty of direct flights from London, Manchester and other UK airports, followed by a transfer of around 3-4 hours to Tignes
Or you can also travel by Eurostar to Bourg-Saint-Maurice and continue by taxi or shuttle
Finally it’s possible to drive and this takes about 13 hours via the Channel Tunnel
There are daily supervised kids’ clubs for children aged from 4 months up to 17 years-old, with dedicated programmes tailored to each age group, including Baby Club Med (4-23 months), Petit Club Med (2–3 years), Mini Club Med+ (4-10 years), the Teen Programme (11-13 years), and the Chill Pass for teenagers aged 14-17 Babysitting services may also be available to book at an additional cost, although these are typically arranged directly through the resort and subject to availability
The best time to visit Tignes for sunny summer weather is from May to September, when the snow has melted. July and August are the warmest months, with daytime temperatures usually between 18-25°C, although the strong mountain sun can make it feel even hotter Evenings stay cooler and fresh thanks to the altitude
From £222 per person per night in low season and £247 per person per night in high season
