Overview
Inside the white washed walls you’ll find two ‘bedrooms’; a master upstairs with an eclectic wraparound mural, a sofa bed in the downstairs sitting room, plus a separate study. There’s a small but fully functioning kitchen inside plus a BBQ and al fresco dining outside. The glittering infinity pool is the star of the show. It is worth knowing that the deck has a drop of a few inches to the garden below. The outdoor area is best suited to non movers or those old enough to know to stay clear. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries for guests to use, but there is no bath. Babes can bathe in the kitchen sink, or pack a collapsible bath for tots who love a tub

Turn the study into a nursery for separate sleeping spaces and use the living room for post bedtime lounging. The stairs to the master are quite steep but the area can be closed off by doors

Moulbot itself is found in the hills in the heart of the ‘authentic’ Algarve. Your neighbours are other houses, but none are close enough to intrude on your privacy. The charming town of Tavira, with plenty of shops and eateries, is a mere 10 minute drive away, as are some of the country’s best sandy beaches

I value easy to reach places when looking for holidays - my son hates being in the car seat for too long. Moulbot was a pleasant 45 minutes drive from Faro airport, the charming town of Tavira is only 15 minutes away, as are some of the regions most beautiful beaches

Fabrica
Fabrica is a stunning stretch of sand on the Ria Formosa – a coastal lagoon natural park of sandbanks and sea. You can catch a boat from the carpark over to the main beach (make sure to bring cash!). The sea may be cold out of season but the little lagoons are bath water warm

Tavira
The small riverside town of Tavira makes for quintessential holiday strolling; there’s an impressive square full of palm trees and water fountains, lined with gelaterias; castle; churches and peaceful park

Barril
Barril has all the amenities a family could need whilst remaining one of the quietest beaches on the southern Algarve coast. Parking is easy. There’s a handful of beachfront cafes, a playground and super clean toilets complete with baby change

The host was fabulous and we had a truly wonderful stay. We visited as a family of three with a one year old son and the set up was perfect. The pool had a shallow end ideal for splashing and we were able to relax and sunbathe whilst the baby napped inside. The local beaches are beautiful. Highly recommend
