Overview

An ancient rice farm converted into an architecturally triumphant, super stylish, boutique hotel with sustainability at its core. This design led wellness resort proves you can cater incredibly well to children without the need for a kids club. Everything revolves around the view; a stunning infinity pool surrounded by a picture perfect nature reserve, but the spoiling spa and delicious dining shouldn’t be missed either. Quinta da Comporta is the type of place adults can dress up for dinner in the evening, whilst knowing their kids are welcome too, with a wealth of activities available from family picnics and cooking workshops to cinema screenings and scenic bike rides

Parent to Tiny Traveller aged 10 months

Quinta Comporta was perfection from the moment we arrived. They checked us in early and ensured our room was easily accessible with the pram. Each evening they made a special bowl of veggies for Aries and she devoured their homemade bread platter. There’s a play area, great if you have a little one who loves an early start. We used the on site nanny service one evening and we highly recommend checking out Cavalarica Comporta which is just down the road. We loved the hotel so much, we will most certainly be heading back again soon

    Worth waking the baby for

    01

    Carvalhal Beach

Easy breezy Blue Flag Carvalhal is walkable (or cyclable) from Quinta da Comporta. On the sugar white sands you’ll find a handful of restaurants for long lazy lunches and lifeguards to put your mind at ease

    02

    Sado Estuary Nature Reserve

Drag yourself away from the sea to explore the wild wetlands, home to flamingoes, otters, dolphins and a menagerie of birds. A boat trip is the best way to spot them all

    03

    Sal Restaurante

Beachfront bliss awaits you at Sal Restaurante on Carvalhal Beach – one of the region’s best stretches of golden sands. A cute little beach bar sitting atop of the dunes serving fresh seafood and local wine
