Which is the best Club Med ski resort for your family?

When left to fend for yourself, organising a family ski holiday can feel as challenging as facing down a black run on day one of your alpine education. Snowglobe getaways aren’t in short supply, but there are scant (stylish!) stays who marry faultless facilities and complimentary childcare, with picturesque pistes and the ease of onsite eating. Which is why we feel it’s our duty to introduce you to Club Med’s range of resplendent resorts, where the elevated all inclusive formula includes kids clubs’, ski lessons and lift passes. So, all you need to decide now is which domain to pick!

In a nutshell, which one is right for me?

If you want access to the Baby Club (4 months+): La Rosiere, Les Arcs Panorama, Grand Massif Samoens Morillon, Valmorel, Alpe d’Huez

La Rosiere: The best for beginners

Les Arcs Panorama: The best for peak pampering pleasure

Grand Massif Samoens Morillon: The best for a tantrum free transfer

Club Med Val Thorens: The best for serious skiers

Club Med Val D’Isere, France: The best for luxury living

La Rosiere: The best for beginners

Our Insider Intel

Nestled in one of the snowiest resorts in the world, an unparalleled location is one of the greatest draws of La Rosiere. A safe bet for those (adult & offspring alike) just starting out, the hotel itself is sandwiched between gentle slopes, with an abundance of apres on offer too – we’re talking yoga classes, a swish spa, and superbly scenic indoor swimming pool. Winter sun seekers relish the south-facing position, which delivers maximum blue skies, while the French / Italian cross border postcode keeps foodies satiated with both first-class fondue & piste-size pizza to chow down on

Best for:

  • 152 km of runs ranging from nursery to hair-raising blacks
  • Incredible range of childcare starting from 4 months +, including yoga for tots and a dedicated kids’ splash pool
  • ‘Learn to ski’ course from 3+, ski lessons from 4+ & snowboarding lessons from 8+
  • Exclusive collection space & special services

Bear in mind:

  • Warm spring weather can turn the lower runs to slush, so best to avoid too late in the season

Les Arcs Panorama: The best for peak pampering pleasure

Our Insider Intel

Parents ski-in and spa-out at Les Arcs Panorama, where the indoor wellness wonderland goes toe to toe with the sensational slopes outside. We’re talking next-level pampering treatments, indoor pools, jacuzzi and even a Turkish bath. Sitting pretty in a forest of firs, perched on the edge of Paradiski (the second largest ski area in France), the surplus of slopes cater to all abilities

Best for:

  • Post-piste pampering
  • ‘Learn to ski’ course from 3+, ski lessons from 4+ & snowboarding lessons from 8+
  • Exclusive collection space & special services

Bear in mind:

  • Sitting solo on the slopes, the surrounding scenery is short on fairytale chalets & local charm

Grand Massif Samoens Morillon: The best for a tantrum free transfer

Our Insider Intel

Only 70 minutes from Geneva airport, a breezy jaunt up the mountains is one alpine appeal of Grand Massif Samoens Morillon. The indoor heated pool with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows is another. While most guests make a beeline for the slopes, the suave spa and swish swimming are equally tempting. A haven of high-altitude entertainment for tots, the coveted Baby Club is in operation here. If you fancy a break from pounding the powder, the traditional village of Samoens is an easy 10 mins away via the gondola and home to a local craft market on Wednesdays

Best for:

  • Shortest transfer time of 70 mins
  • ‘Learn to ski’ course from 3+, ski lessons from 4+ & snowboarding lessons from 8+
  • Highly rated mountain restaurants

Bear in mind:

  • Can get very busy during peak periods

Club Med Val Thorens: The best for serious skiers

Our Insider Intel

To seasoned skiers, Val Thorens needs no introduction. Famous for being the highest resort in Europe, and in the heart of the sprawling 3 valleys, the unparalleled location provides over 600 km of pistes to ski-daddle down. Being so much closer to heaven, Val Thornes also has an in with the weather gods – with a super long season running from the end of November to the beginning of May. Best suited to tweens and older, ski lessons start from 11+ here, and the hotel doesn’t provide childcare for baby snow bunnies

Best for:

  • Club Med’s highest-altitude resort, at over 2,300m high
  • Access to one of the largest ski areas in Europe
  • Tweens, teens & advanced alpine adventurers
  • A long ski season

Bear in mind:

  • Childcare & ski lessons start from 11+
  • A hugely popular resort, it can get busy in the school holidays

Club Med Val D’Isère, France: The best for luxury living

Our Insider Intel

Experience the pinnacle of alpine luxury at Club Med Val d’Isère, where even the hardest-to-please chalet connoisseurs feel right at home.  Val d’Isère’s slopes have terrain for beginners and experts alike, while the town’s ice rink and toboggan area provide apres for juniors. The slick spa is a treat for parents and the restaurant’s gourmet Savoyard specialities a gastronomic delight. With breathtaking scenery and the centre-ville an easy amble away, Club Med Val d’Isère’s location is first class fare too

Best for:

  • 15 min walk from the town centre
  • Ski lessons from 4+ & snowboarding lessons from 8+
  • Exclusive collection space & special services

Bear in mind:

  • Childcare starts from 4+, with no Baby Club
