Undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks in Dubai, the dazzling array of amenities offered here is unmatched – which is a mean feat in the land of bigger is better. Welcoming you to the ultimate fly and flop are multiple swimming pools, impeccable dining (with more restaurants under its roof than some towns have in total), a sandy beach and state of the art spa. With over 1,500 rooms, the sheer scale of Atlantis does take some getting used to – but we promise it doesn’t impact the faultless service, which is second to none. Alongside the much-loved Kids Club (4+), the real jewel in the crown for parents is the 24/7 aquarium access and complimentary entry to the mammoth onsite waterpark

Delano Dubai

Delano Dubai is *the* new coastal showstopper on Bluewaters Island, bringing Miami-cool elegance to the Middle East. While its chic, understated-yet-unmistakably luxe aesthetic might first catch your eye, it’s the resort’s quietly brilliant family credentials that will really appeal to parents. First off, the scale here is far more intimate than Dubai‘s mega resorts, which means service feels personal, seamless and refreshingly unhurried – ideal for families who are looking for luxury but want to shrug off the overwhelm. Then there’s the Tropicool Kids Club (3–12) which keeps tiny travellers entertained with creative, hands-on activities, freeing mum and dad to enjoy a rare moment of calm in the most stunning of surroundings – whether that’s a long lunch or a blissful hour at the spa (the resort is known for it’s almost unparalleled wellness credentials). Add in seriously spacious suites with lots of separate sleeping space options, and it becomes quickly apparent Delano Dubai has been designed for real family living. Last but by no means least is the hotel’s absurdly enviable location. If you’ve visited Dubai before, you’ll know the city is famously unwalkable, meaning you need to rely on taxis to whizz around. Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the iconic wave-shaped classic, has been welcoming families to Dubai for decades — and for good reason. Set on a long sweep of private beach with uninterrupted Burj Al Arab views, it delivers the kind of easy, sun-soaked days parents dream of – as here the family facilities aren’t just added extras, but instead, all ages appeal is one of the hotel’s core concepts.  As well as five sparkling pools (including dedicated options for tiny travellers) and one of the city’s most established kids clubs, comes the real showstopper – and perk that keeps families coming back year after year. We’re talking about the complimentary, unlimited access to Wild Wadi Waterpark that guests receive (which is handily located right next door). If you haven’t heard of it, give it a Google – we’re talking out of this world waterslides, wave pools, lazy rivers, splashpads…. Add in a huge choice of restaurants, warm service honed over 25 years, and rooms & suites designed specifically for families, and you have one blissful beachfront escape where the whole family will feel wholly welcome

JA Palm Tree Court

If you’re looking to tap into Dubai’s guaranteed sunshine and easy flight, but prefer your holidays a little more rest-and-relaxation than city-sights, JA Palm Tree Court is the hotel for you. A tropical oasis of roaming peacocks and swaying palm trees, the lush landscape and outskirts location offer a welcome alternative to  staying amidst the action. At 40 minutes from the airport, you’re slightly further away from the famous attractions, but in exchange are treated to some of the country’s largest hotel rooms and an 800m stretch of private beach (plus Dubai Parks & Resorts, including Legoland & Motiongate, are right on your doorstep!). While you won’t be waited on hand and foot here (for example, there’s no lounger service), the facilities will honestly blow your mind (not to mention, will astound tiny travellers too!). We’re talking a creche (4 months +), fantastic kids club that they’ll be begging to return to, a mini farm, almost double digit pools, splash park, sprawling shaded splashpad, pristine golf course, wealth of watersports, sports centre… you get the idea! Not to mention, guests can freely dine around the resort’s 25 restaurants and bars (many of which hero ingredients from JA’s own bio-garden!)

The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina 

If your kids are begging you for a waterpark, but the thought of multicoloured monasteries goes against your core aesthetic sensibilities, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina is well worth considering instead. With a non offensive blue & white theme, the (not too large) Jungle Bay is an easy on the eye alternative, plus the splash pads and gentle slides appeal to the tiniest of travellers as well. Positioned on a pristine, private, stretch of beach, the awesome aquatic theme extends to sea and swimming pools as well. The multiple restaurants onsite all come highly recommended (especially if you have allergies to contend with), and the Bubbalicious Brunch is nothing short of legendary. Completing the dreamy picture is the Kids Club (4+) and generous rooms – with even the entry level ones providing ample space

Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort 

If the Middle East, Far East and Indian Ocean had a baby it would look something like Anantara The Palm. Dishing up a different take on Dubai design language, decor here leans heavily on Thai influences, with red-roof temple-like buildings surrounding lagoon-like pools. Not stopping there, floating market boats serve up refreshments, whilst tuk-tuks chauffeur guests around the resort. Taking accommodation notes from everybody’s favourite archipelago, families can even check into over-water villas (the only ones in the UAE)  with swim up  rooms to boot. The delicious dining gets a lot of praise (as does the Kids Club 3+), but if you’re a beach connoisseur it’s worth knowing the hotel’s sandy stretch (though long), isn’t considered one of the city’s best. 45 minutes from the airport, the location is a little removed from the tourist hotspots – which works well for those seeking serenity in between sightseeing, just factor in taxi time and costs

Rixos The Palm Hotel & Suites

One of only a handful of hotels offering all inclusive packages, Rixos The Palm Hotel & Suites nails the hassle free holiday brief. Ease of eating aside, parents will be pleased to hear (cue parents jumping up & down screaming in excitement) that the Rixy Kids Club welcomes ALL ages (starting from 6 months +). Bringing a touch of decadence to dopamine family days, there’s an onsite Aqua Park, mini farm, science & sports academies, cookery classes, wood workshops, climbing wall, cinema and evening entertainment. So far so tot fantasyland sounding, but what about mum & dad you ask? The sprawling resort offers 4 sparking pools, an authentic Hammam and 3 brilliant restaurants. Need any more convincing? The private beach is immaculate and the prime Palm Jumeirah location hard to beat

Voco Dubai The Palm

There’s no denying that Dubai is synonymous with luxury, and the world-famous service often comes with a hefty price tag. If you have Emirates ambitions, but a more modest budget, turn your attention toward Voco Dubai The Palm. With rooms starting from as little as £112 p/night, you’d be hard pushed to find a better value proposition in the city. Low cost doesn’t come at a compromise to style or substance either – the pleasing interiors and restaurants don’t disappoint. Families are warmly welcomed, but the amenities only stretch to a private beach, rooftop pool and children’s menus. That being said, the location is brilliant – with Wild Wadi, The Atlantis and OliOli all less than 20 minutes away by car

Jumeirah Al Naseem

The Middle East’s answer to Sani,  Jumeirah Al Naseem is one of 5 luxury hotels luxuriating on a pristine stretch of sand. Just like its European counterpart, facilities are open to all guests – meaning there’s a mammoth choice of over 40(!) restaurants, plethora of pools and even an onsite souk to peruse. Jumeirah Al Naseem would be our base of choice. Whilst Jumeirah Beach is technically closest to Wild Wadi, we prefer a little more separation between our sunbed and waterslide. Aquatic adventures are only a 10 minute stroll (or short buggy ride away), and free daily access is a perk for Madinat properties. Room rates definitely sit in the premium price category, but kids under 4 eat for free, whilst those 3+ have complimentary access to the Kids Club

Four Seasons Dubai

Offering the best of both worlds, the Four Seasons Resort Dubai is the closest beachfront hotel to Downtown Dubai (and only 20 minutes from the airport). A marriage of classic Four Seasons flair and Middle Eastern opulence, gold-leaf ceilings sit pretty alongside Murano crystal vases, whilst the service is just as impeccable as you’d expect. Excess here is ensconced in low key luxury, with the hotel elegantly shrugging off the gaudy stereotypes often associated with this city of superlatives. With a focus on space, all rooms come complete with either skyline or sea view balconies. The Kids Club (4+) is complimentary, and remains open until 9pm – the perfect excuse for a date night. Thoughtful touches for families extend beyond the usual cots & highchairs, to include free nappies, toiletries and prams to borrow

Fairmont The Palm 

Perfectly positioned on the west coast of Palm’s Jumeirah’s trunk is Fairmont The Palm – a reasonably priced beachfront bolthole, with easy access to sea and city. A more contemporary Arabian abode, the vibe here is a more refined take on razzamataz. The family facilities are all there, just in a smaller form; think 2 pools instead of 10; sprinklers instead of waterslides; and, enough restaurants to reasonably eat in each one during your stay. If you fancy a change of scene, you’re spoiled for choice with eateries on Dubai’s most iconic island. The Kids Club here proves that some of the best things really do come in small packages – free for 3+ it also welcomes those 18 months + for a small fee. The roster of activities isn’t quite as ‘extra’ as you’ll find in neighbouring hotels, but the pint-sized climbing wall is a nice touch

Bab Al Shams

For an alternate beach break (you’ve got the sand, just not the sea) head to Bab Al Shams (less than an hour’s drive from the city centre). While a luxury desert destination might not immediately scream child friendly, this magical retelling of Arabian Nights is a story we guarantee families will want to feature in. A 5* take on an Arabian fort, expect authentic aesthetics paired with sparkling sand-front infinity pools and dazzling dining extravaganzas. Tots are brilliantly taken care of by the culturally-rich Kids Club (5+), adventure park, children’s menus, daily complimentary camel rides and falconry displays. The highlight of the trip? The Al Hadheerah under the stars dinner. There’s belly dancing, galloping horses, herds of camels and a feast of fabulous food
