For the brave hearted (10+) there’s a loop-the-loop flume, Space Bowl, a heart thumping death drop and a handful of enclosed and open-air chutes. School aged smalls (5+) have their own tropical tower of wide slides and speedier descents, while toddling tots will love the animal sprinklers, rainbow mist tunnel and mushroom shower in their dedicated splash pad. Elsewhere, there’s Lumi’s World (5+), which we can only describe as resembling a ChatGPT response to ‘the world’s best Kids Club’, handful of foodie-approved restaurants, and uber-chic cool-off spots on every corner – with sunken sunbeds, sloping entries, a shaded, shallow pool and swim up suites

Featuring a giant bouncy bubble, duo of gentle flumes through the ‘wildlife’ splash pad (think: larger than life frogs, ladybird sprinklers and ducks for the added wow factor), plus two more slides ideal for toddlers, Iberostar Selection Albufera Park is a certified watery wonderland. And that’s before we’ve even got to its location – steps from one of Mallorca’s best beaches, Playa de Muro. The family facilities here are in a league of their own too; with a children’s playground, trampoline, climbing wall, ice cream parlour, 3 Kids Club (4+) and well-equipped rooms. Home to the one of the largest Kids’ Clubs on the continent, childcare at this parental paradise starts from 4 months plus. While kids are entertained inside their own castle, parents are free to indulge in some royally-good booty of their own. Think: submerged sunbeds in the very elegant swimming pool, uniformly delicious dining at Nammos Limassol and La Petite Maison (LPM) Limassol, not to mention the extensive spa service

Combining the revered elegant ease of Sani & Ikos with an unmatched array of entertainment, everything you could possibly need (wish or hope for) is on tap at Anda Barut Collection in Bodrum. Newly opened in 2024 it’s probably not a name you’ve heard of yet, but we guarantee it’s one you’ll be itching to book by the time we’ve finished describing it. The easy on the eye waterpark and splash pad is just the beginning here. Alongside a comprehensive Kids Club (that runs until 10pm!), the carnival-themed evening entertainment boasts a stylish merry-go–round, roaming rainbow clowns, princesses, and bubble show. The globe-spanning cuisine definitely goes toe-to-toe with the previously mentioned gourmet getaways, plus it’s all inclusive to boot

For a gentle take on waterparks, Hillside Beach Club is the seafront stay to book. The trio of flumes are fast enough for school-aged sprogs, but the general ambience is more peaceful than most. While the complimentary Kids Club starts from 4+, this Turkish delight leaves no stone unturned when it comes to entertaining the whole family. The free-to-use Baby Park is a shaded respite from the heat, with a super cute paddling pool (sprinkled with rainbow-coloured balls) and age-appropriate toys. There’s a slightly deeper toddler pool, for splashing about under the sun, while you’ll find a whole heap of inflatables to borrow on the beach. You’ll hear no complaining from tweens, with DJ and dancing lessons keeping hormones on the happy side. Boasting a stretched out summer, a visit to Turkey makes a lot of sense during April, May and October half terms. Even if the weather has a few iffy days the three heated kids pools keep water temperatures bath warm

Home to another pirate ship splash pad, but this time on beach-blessed Mallorca, families flock to Zafiro Palace Alcudia for its magical mix of childcare, all inclusive cuisine and (walkable!) proximity to one of the island’s most beautiful local towns. There’s a boatload of fun (see what we did there?), awaiting petite paddlers at this swashbuckling pool meets playground, but slides and sprinklers aren’t the hotel’s only trump card. One of the largest water parks in the whole of the Med, slides come in all shapes and sizes here, from hair-raising water coasters to the sedate ‘Spray Area’. Whether you’ve got toddlers or teenagers, there’s plenty to please everyone. Want a break from the water? The Kids Club welcomes those 4 and older, while cinema screenings and evening magic shows keeps the fun flowing post sundown

The pirate ship paddling pool playground at GF Victoria looks like it stepped straight out of a storybook, with a palm tree sprinkler, wide slide perfect for more cautious kiddies to scoot down and a handful of faster paced flumes for older offspring. H20 highlights further extend to a bodyboard ‘surf’ pool too. What’s on dry land you ask? PLENTY we answer. With climbing walls and motor racing simulators, a play room handily located near to the restaurant, and comprehensive Kids Club from 4 months through to 17 years old. Located in sun-sure Tenerife, there’s an easy excuse to visit any month of the year

It’s rare to find an all inclusive resort in Portugal, but ease of eating isn’t the only trend Tivoli Alvor is beautifully bucking. Starting with rooms. High rises are replaced with low-lying bungalows which surround 6 swimming pools. Cleverly conceived with families in mind, these modern sleep-spots feature separate living areas, private balconies, and two bedroom suites well equipped for larger gangs of up to 6. The beach is a ten minute scoot away, and the hotel ferries guests, via a complimentary shuttle, to the postcard-perfect village of Alvor itself. The splash pool here is best suited to under 5s, with 2 mini slides and a waterfall bucket. Older kids are far from forgotten though, with an outdoor playground, mini golf, outdoor cinema and Kids Club (4+)

A seductive seascape is the first thing you’ll notice at The Royal Senses in Crete, with jaw-dropping views from every vantage point. The easy on the eye accommodation has been purposefully placed to soak these up, with a front row ocean outlook from the private terraces and pools. The aesthetically pleasing aqua park is a hit with the whole family, thanks to its trio of spiralling slides and tot-friendly water playground. With a commitment to local culture, the Kids Club (3+) is rather special too. We’re talking; mythology lessons, Greek cooking & dancing classes, plus gardening, teaching tinies all about local traditions. The beach is across the road, and the easiest way to access is via the complimentary shuttle, but trust us, when the swimming pool (readers: it’s a 2 level infinity icon) is as stunning as it is here, there’s really no need to leave

Home to 8 thrilling slides, a colossal water toy construction, and heap of H2O based games, the sprawling waterpark at Lyttos Beach runs the gauntlet from thrilling to chilling. Those who want to take it easy can float down the lazy river, toddle through the sprinkle tunnel and play in the generously sized pool-playground, while adrenaline junkies can plummet down the more exhilarating options. When you’re done with the splash-tastic fun, make the most of the all inclusive offering, Blue flag beach and awesome Lyttopia playground. Nestled within two acres of land, it’s home to rope bridges, climbing frames, tunnels and even archery lessons. If you want to check your sprogs in for a supervised session, the Kids Club starts at 4+

All the swim spots at The Westin Resort Costa Navarino are the type that make you stop-and-stare. The splash pad here is one of the country’s largest and with a smattering of speedier slides right next to it all ages are accounted for. The interactive Kids Club is open for those 4 months + (music to the ears of a postpartum parent!) and engaging activities include singing and storytelling. For those 4 +, entertainment is steeped in local culture, with Messinian pirate role play and painting ancient costumes on the agenda. A symphony for the senses, guests have the culinary choice of 40 restaurants – thanks to the hotel’s unique positioning as part of the Costa Navarino complex

While Amathus Limassol may not have its own waterpark, this Cypriot hotel tops the list for teens, thanks to its floating inflatable obstacle course on the ocean. Smaller swimmers aren’t forgotten either, with twin waterslides ideal for school aged sprogs, and a mini one for tots. Fun continues indoors, where those 4 and older can check into the Kids Club for substantial soft play and vintage arcade games. The all important private pool rooms also feature here, as does a foodie-approved restaurant roster

If you’re going for gold in the parenting awards, booking a holiday to GRECOTEL LUXME Oasis is a good place to start. Lying on the shores of ancient Olympia, where the Olympic games first took place, the biggest drawcard for kids is the GIANT onsite Aqua Park. One of the largest in any Greek resorts, you’ve got everything from water coasters, a ‘launch capsule’ and ‘Space Hole’ to a multi-level splash pad playground. Measuring a mighty 20,000 square meters, water-loving little’uns could easily while away a whole week here, and it undeniably has the widest array of water-based-boredom-busters in this list. More than just an aquatic theme park, Tiny Travellers are also treated to a Kids Club 4+, while parents will appreciate the all inclusive dining set up, Blue flag beach and slick spa

Boasting beautiful looks and enticing entertainment, Valamar Amicor Green Resort delivers bucketfuls of boujee bolthole vibes, cleverly packaged alongside spades of family facilities.  Starting with the onsite waterpark – featuring 3 mini slides for smalls and 3 fast paced flumes ideal for tweens and teens. There’s even a super sweet baby pool with a teeny tiny slide and sprinkler for the youngest of guests. Our favourite part? The Balinese-style canopied double day beds surrounding this spot. There’s also a Scandi-chic Kids Club (3+), spacious suites & villas, plus the sights of Stari Grad can be reached in less than 20 minutes on foot

Any hotel description that starts with ‘a 15 minute airport transfer’ is sure to pique our interest. But, ease of access is just the first in a long, long, long list of parent pleasing perks at Lujo Hotel Bodrum – a joy inducing juggernaut for families who want facilities at no cost to aesthetics or ambience. Where do we start? If you’re reading this roundup you probably want intel on the waterslides, right? Home to 6 speedy slides, this aquapark has a minimum age requirement of 10+. The Kids Club however is free for those 1 and older, making it one of Turkey’s lowest entry ages, and activities cover dedicated music, art and science rooms, Lego Robotic Coding workshops, dance and basketball academies. Water babies will want to plump for a Laguna Deluxe Room, for direct access to a snaking, shared (heated!) swimming pool. If we haven’t already convinced you to google flights stat, the Caribbean-esque sands, sparkling sea and 9 a la carte, yet all inclusive, restaurants are sure to seal the deal. Plus, did we mention the Kids Club runs into the early hours of the morning…

A multi-gen mecca, the sprawling waterpark at Crete’s Creta Maris truly caters to all ages and covers the full spectrum of adrenaline seeking. Those chasing a rush will love the raging river rapids and high speed slides, while the fun-tastic splash pad and knee-deep-pool-playground will keep the younger set enthralled. Neatly tucked away out of sight, it feels like a stand alone attraction, and one that thankfully doesn’t dominate the serene scenes around the rest of the pools. Families can dip in and out of a whopping 7 shimmering swim spots, including lots of lovely shallow entries. The resort itself is split into 2 halves – ‘mountain’ (which feels like a little Greek town with cobbled streets and white washed buildings) and ‘beach’ (which is a tad more modern)

While all of the Ikos resorts are much-loved by sleep-deprived parents, Odisia has our vote for the best toddler pool. The well-equipped splash pad will have offspring grinning from ear to ear, but adults can rest assured their tastes are equally well catered to; from the Michelin-designed dining and Tattinger on tap to the elegantly executed interiors. Set on 60 acres of manicured olive groves, Odisia is twice as large as neighbouring Dassia, but with a similar number of rooms – making for a much more relaxing retreat

Swanky Sani is a highly coveted choice for parents seeking the quickest, and most luxurious, road to relaxation. Children’s facilities across the five resorts are second to none – with a creche from 6 months +, Babe Watch beach childcare, swim lessons, sailing and watersports all available. If you’re travelling with a toddler and want a hotel with a splash pad, it’s Sani Beach or Porto Sani you’ll want to book. Beach is the entry level, with the most affordable room rates, while Porto Sani is the step up in terms of design (and accompanying price), with generous room layouts and a central location close to the best restaurants

Even the most demanding of speed-seekers will have their thrill-thirst quenched at Nana Water Park. From plummeting down the sky high Hill Slide to descending into darkness via the Black Hole, teenagers will be in 7th heaven here. Younger siblings can also join in the fun, with a selection of toddler slides (or splash pad in the separate Children’s World) but you may find it challenging to check them out of the Kids Club (3+), which has one of the best hotel soft plays we’ve seen. Rooms at Nana Princess come with heated private pools; the space–age spa is one of Crete’s best; and the service is nothing short of opulent

A real rarity on the resort scene, Club Marvy separates itself from the rest of the family-first fray with its commitment to local living. Fusing the facilities of a mega resort with the personal service of a boutique bolthole, Club Marvy prides themselves on providing a ‘brand new holiday experience inspired by our roots.’ And boy do they (over) deliver. There’s too many facilities to list, but we’ll give you the highlights; a multi-slide aquapark & splash pad; 4 swimming pools; 8 restaurants; an open-air yoga studio; high-tech gym; sensational spa; and, two Kids Clubs (4+). This ‘mini village’ has a firm sense of place. All inclusive food comes from the family farm, interiors are adorned by Turkish artisans and even the alcohol is laced with local delicacies (think, pomegranate seed G&Ts)
